Card Bending (VRCHAT + Quest)

You're about to make a name for yourself here.

Card bending, Card magic, whatever you want to call it. These cards can do a lot of things. Let me run you through it :)

The Card Bending asset has a customizable moveset. Each move is triggered by a combination of gestures and hand positions.

Double Rocker Gesture (Hands Close Together)

For this gesture combination there are 3 different moves you can choose from:

• Gambit
  • All 9 cards will float evenly between your hands in a curve. Then if you do a double pointing finger gesture, you will fire out all cards together like a shotgun.
• Pick A Card
  • All 9 cards will float infront of you, obscured on both sides. Touching a card will flip it and show a random card.
  • You have the option to rig the outcome of any random selection in the asset, if you want a specific card to show you can select that.
  • Other people are able to flip the cards too.
• Flying Carpet
  • The cards will form a platform for you to stand on.
  • A collider is toggled which allows you to fly when jumping (this feature will not work for the quest version unfortunately).

Peace Sign/Victory Gesture (One Handed)

Using a peace sign gesture on with the cards will perform most moves that tosses cards.

There are 2 moves to choose from:

• Quad Toss
  • Quickly toss 4 cards in succession straight outwards from your hand.
• Machinegun
  • Cards will float around your hand.
  • Opening your hand will fire a continuous stream of projectiles.
  • Putting your hands close together will increase the fire rate.

Grab a card from the deck

• Always available when holding the deck, with the other hand, reach into the deck with a peace sign to grab a random card from the deck. Open hand to toss it, or open hand back inside the deck to put it back.
• This toss aims where you look with your head.

Double Thumbs Up (Hands Close Together)

Here there are 2 moves to choose from:

• Orb
  • The cards will float in an orb between your hands.
  • The orb will change size depending on how close your hands are together.
• Shield
  • Form a big rotating shield surrounding you from all sides. All cards have colliders so that actual shooting particles from other players will be blocked.
  • The cards will change distances depending on how close your hands are together.
  • (of note the colliders for blocking bullets are active at ALL TIMES. no matter what move you do, you can block bullets with the cards, some just provide better protection.

Held Positions

There are 3 ways to hold the cards:

• Deck
  • Hold the cards like a deck of cards.
  • Shuffle them between your hands by opening a hand, the flicking your hand.
• Fan
  • Hold the cards like a fan.
  • Shuffle them between your hands by opening a hand, the flicking your hand.
• Sword/whip
  • Cards will form a sword going outwards from your hand.
  • Dynamic swing sounds play when swinging.
  • Fist with both hands to split the sword in two smaller ones.
  • Hands close together with normal sword to form a shield.
  • Peace sign to form a whip.
  • The sword/whip also has parry colliders that will work with my other sword prefabs to create collision effects

Finger Point (One Handed)

This gesture has two moves to choose from

• Spring Tail
  • Form a row of cards in springjoint in front of your hand
  • pass it between your hands by using a combination of both hands with finger point.
• Spring Attack
  • Form a bigger row of cards much further out from your hand
  • Can also be passed between your hands.

All these moves can be toggled on and off entirely, so you can customize how you want to use the asset.

QUEST COMPATIBLE!

The cards work almost entirely for quest users. The only differences are:

• Slight visual downgrades due to no custom shaders
• Blocking bullets and flying not possible due to no colliders allowed
• Pick A Card faces wont be obscured initially due to no custom shader (the card will still randomly be picked)
• Springjoint effects work slightly differently due to no springjoints allowed.

The quest version will sync with the pc version if you ensure that:

The parameter list is identical on both versions of your avatar.

You can install the pc version on your pc half, and the quest version on the quest half of your avatar, with or without vrcfury.

By default, these 9 textures are pre-included in the asset.

Material swapping tool

(Coded by Nebula Animations)

This tool, included in the asset, allows you to instantly swap the texture of the asset with a couple clicks. Swaps 11 materials in the asset automatically particles and card meshes.

Bonus Community Textures (accessed through discord)

(due to a few copyrighted images, these can only be accessed through my discord server)

They can be found in the pinned messages in the #Liindy-assets-edits-sharing chat, simply import the unity package and the materials will appear in the material swapper script.

Customizing the cards is easy!

included on download is PSD, SPP and PNG files for you to edit with.

The card asset supports 9 unique card faces.

DEPENDENCIES:

You must use one of the newer VRC SDK's which can only be downloaded through VCC, otherwise you are more than likely to encounter issues.

(recommended 8 or newer)

(required to have in the project for the prefab to function, it is included in your download, so you don't have to grab it from here)

(can be installed through VCC directly (used for manual installation))

OPTIONAL:

Fury can be used as an alternative install method

Block bullets!

All the cards have colliders on them, so they can block projectiles from other avatars.

Terms:

🟢 YOU CAN:

• Use the asset for personal use and projects, modify and edit it as you see fit.
• Stream/make video content with the asset, credit is not needed, but greatly appreciated.
• Make public avatars with the asset.
• Commission/take commissions for putting the asset on an avatar (provided BOTH parties own the asset)
• Use it for a commercial avatar IF you set it up and export without the assets files (you have to delete the folder), then direct your customers to the exact page to buy it. You are under no circumstances allowed to include the files for the asset in your own export. Your store page must be pretty clear about that to avoid confusion as well.

🔴 YOU CANNOT:

• Share any of the files to anyone who does not own the asset.
• Include the files on a purchasable/free avatar.
• Complain that the asset broke your project, I always recommend you make backups before importing new things.
